8. Brief History of the Central Council:
Sivagangai Diocese, which comprises two revenue districts in south
tamilnadu amely of Sivagangai and Ramnad districts, was bifurcated from the
Diocese of Madurai in 1987.Only 18 conferences existed then. the Due to
dedicated,commited,and untiring selfless
efforts of a few individuals, the no of conferences soared to 55.Despite the
poorest economic scenario
of the entire region all the parishes have individual conferences and are
flourishing with the motto of sharing
the available. It is a blessing to get very compassionate co-operation from the
Bishop and all the Parish priest.
