9. Major Projects of the Central Council:
Bishop of Vellore His Excellency Dr. A.M. Chinnappa made an appeal to the Vellore Diocese Vincentians to celebrate the 2000 millennium on 3rd February 2001 at Chetpet St. Lourdh’s Church which is 60 km away from Vellore and asked every conference to take pledge to construct a house for the poor in the presence of Blessed Sacrament. We, around 300 Vincentians gathered at 10 km away from the church and made marian procession with Rosary, Prayers, Singing songs, offered Holy Mass and took pledge.
In continuation of this, some of the conferences have started this major project of constructing houses, completed and was inaugurated by the Vellore Central Council spiritual advisor Most. Rev. Dr. Thomas Acquinas, present Bishop of Coimbatore.
