8. Brief History of the Central Council :- 

    Society of  St. Vincent  De  Paul, Thuckalay Central  Council was established on 12-12-1997. Formerly it was under the Changanacherry central council, named as Kanyakumari particular council.  The area which includes in our central council in Kanyakumari District and Shenkottai Taluk of Thirunelvely District  in Tamil Nadu.  It was instituted on 9th May 2001. We have 77 conferences under seven particular cuncils namely Arukany – 13 conferences Kaliyal 9 Conference Manjalumoodu – 10 conferences Nithravilai 10 conferences Padanthalumoodu 9 conferences Pilan kalai 14 conferences Soosaipuram 12 Conferences. 

The total members of the conference at present in 525.
