6. Brief History of the Central Council :-
(i) Marthandom Central Council was formed on 05-01-1999 by our beloved Bishop His Grace Most Rev. Yoohanon Mar Chrysostom in the presence of the Bro. Jim. O. Conner, the National President of England and Wales. It will be the 56th Central Council under the National Council of India. It has been separated from the parent Malankara Central Council Trivandrum. Our native district is Kanyakumari here which three central councils are functioning via (i) Marthandom CC (Suro Malankara Diocese).
(ii) Thukalay C.C (Syro Malabar Diocese).
(iii) Kottar C. C (Diocese of Kottar – Latin rite). Our
main motive is the development (both spiritually and economically)
of the people of Adopted families and the people of rural and remote areas by
frequent visits and meetings. Hospital cleaning, Road formation, Free medical
campaigns, Educational and employment career guidance’s, House maintenance and
roofing are our special social activities.
